A huge "Thank You" to our Crossover Church family for sending us on a getaway to beautiful downtown Savannah, GA.
We've walked several miles, chatted with people who've become friends and coffee... so much coffee.
I find myself staring out the 3rd story window as people meander in the street. The sound of horse drawn carriage rides, laughter and music are quite compelling. Everything changes when midnight hour arrives and calm replaces happy chaos.
The day time activities pretty much describe my internal commotion. I tend to ignore it thanks to the busy distractions, until the fast pace calms down and the concerns demand attention - usually after midnight. Can you relate?
What we do with the problems will determine the outcome. Over the years I've spend many nights worrying over things I can not resolve. Sleep deprivation leads to more anxiety and coffee.
I slip away from the loft window to the nearby chair, taking the cares of my heavy heart to the One who already knows the outcome. Can I trust Him? Yes! Even if it doesn't turn out the way I plan? I can still trust Him. We wreck it when we tire of waiting on His perfect timing, execute our own plan and THEN ask Him to bless it. Don't get mad with God if your well laid plans fail. Take a step back, return to His plan and rest in Him.
Trust Him, trust His plan and trust His timing too.
Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!
